Mark Tursi

Mark Tursi is a professor of writing and literature at Marymount Manhattan College and New Jersey City University. He has also taught courses at the Museum of Modern Art on a variety of topics including Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, the sublime, and the artistic interchange between poets and painters. He is the author of four books of poetry including The Uncanny Valley forthcoming this fall. He is currently at work on several writing projects including a novel, an anthology of American Surrealist poets, a cross-genre work that blends philosophy, fiction, literary criticism, and poetry in response to and ‘in conversation’ with Dante’s Inferno, as well as a scholarly work titled Experience & Emptiness that explores the confluence of Postmodern philosophy with Surrealism, Zen Buddhism, and notions of the sublime.
